Halt, people!

Why are the people in the world,

moving in a fast pace,

neglecting everything,

except their work,

just to earn more,

in the hope of a ‘brighter’ future.

 

Why can't they halt for awhile,

to observe the surrounding,

the facinating views,

that might not be seen,

by the future generation,

due to the arrogance,

of us!

 

Why can't the people halt for awhile,

to help others,

like friends,

family members,

or even the society,

in their work,

their difficulties,

their anguish,

their tourment;

in the never-finishing chores,

to spare time with them,

for their last few years,

or sometimes unexpectedly last few minutes,

to make their life easier and happier;

to chat with their neighbour,

to let their seat to an old lady or a pregnent women,

to help an old man across the road,

to spend some money to fund the innocent orphan,

or halt on their way to work,

just to pick up a rubbish in front of them,

or to donate their blood,

or even sign up as an organ donor!

 

Why can't the people halt for awhile,

to do their part in saving the Mother Earth,

like recycling,

planting a tree,

protecting the animals,

not using any polystyrine container or cup,

reducing their dependent on plastics,

reducing the water and electric consumption,

reducing the organic waste thrown,

reducing the usage of chemicals,

or even reduce the exchange of their mobile phones or computers!

 

Why can't the people halt,

just for a short while,

in their more than half-a-decade-life,

to help others,

in the hope for,

a better friendship,

a better relationship,

a more loving family,

a better environment,

a brighter future!
